Emerald Sanctuary features an informal Camp n’Jam on Thursday night. Friday and Saturday night haflas feature opportunities to dance to both live and recorded music. If you want to dance to your own pre-recorded music please be prepared and have it ready on a CD or portable music device. For live music performances, sign-up sheets will be available in the main hall, and the musicians are available to talk with you beforehand and help you select a song.

Our beloved Haflas are a wonderful time to relax and connect with friends, enjoy all levels of solo and group performances, and of course have lots of opportunities for open dance. All campers are invited to perform! If you want to use your own pre-recorded music please be prepared and have it ready on a CD or portable music device. We are fortunate to have world class live musicians to transport dancers and audience members alike! For the live sets, sign-up sheets will be available in the main hall, and the musicians are available to talk with you beforehand and help you select a song. A unique tradition for Emerald Sanctuary live sets is to divide a classic five part routine among multiple dancers, with all dancers returning to the stage for a lively group finale.

If you will be performing (and we hope you will!) don’t forget:

• Costume, props, accessories

• Music: Our sound system can support CDs (pre-recorded or burned), bluetooth, thumb drives, apple and android products. Please bring a backup of your music on another device or format.

• The dance floor is concrete, covered with a thin carpet. If you need more support, consider bringing dance shoes to wear.

• Mirror and lights for getting ready (there are no full-length mirrors in the cabins or bathhouse and lighting is very dim)

• Sewing kit, safety pins, emergency repair for your costume - because you never know!
