Food and Beverages

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN FOOD AND BEVERAGES

There is no food or beverages provided by the retreat; participants must bring their own. If you forget something, there are groceries and cafes/bars at nearby towns Coulee City (10 min north) and Soap Lake (20 min south). There is a small shop at Sun Lakes Resort with a limited selection of food and camping supplies; there is also a walk-up diner with food, snacks, coffee and sweet treats. Above the park at the visitor center, there are usually a couple of food trucks, including ice cream!

Alcoholic drinks are permitted for those 21+. Please drink responsibly.

The kitchen is a fully-stocked commercial kitchen with all cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. There is a large walk-in refrigerator and a separate freezer. There is an ice maker and a microwave in the kitchen.

There are shelves in the walk-in refrigerator to store your food. Consider using a box or bag to keep your items organized and separate from others. Storing your food in a personal cooler within the walk-in refrigerator is a popular option. There are cupboards available in the kitchen to store your dry, non-refrigerated food.

Coffee

There is a large commercial coffee brewer. If you want to partake in the group coffee option, please consider bringing a lb. of ground coffee to contribute. You can also bring your own personal coffee maker, such as a stove-top brewer or pour-over system.

Don’t Forget

Commonly forgotten items include cooking oil, sugar, seasonings, salt & pepper, storage for leftovers (such as ziplock bags), cleaning supplies. Dish towels, sponges, and dish soap are not provided by the camp - please consider bringing a bottle of dish soap and/or rags/sponges for communal use. Some campers will bring their own cooking knives or desired appliances such as a hand mixer or blender.

Stay Hydrated

The tap water is potable and safe for consumption.

The high desert is a dry and hot environment. Combine that with physical activity and it's easy to get dehydrated quickly. Bring a reusable water bottle and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Don’t forget to take a fridge selfie!
